Our Atlanta plastic surgery office is excited to offer patients Voluma, one of the latest injectable fillers from the Juvéderm® family. Voluma is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that instantly adds subtle lift and volume to the cheeks to restore a more youthful contour to the face and profile. Dr. Connors often refers to this product as a “liquid facelift”. It works to addresses the hollow areas around the cheeks while filling in moderate to severe wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It is common to combine a Voluma treatment with another procedure such as BOTOX or a chemical peel to produce outstanding results. Patients considering Voluma should be at least 21 years of age.
"Dr. Connors and his staff are some of the most wonderful people I have met since moving to Atlanta. They truly care about you-how you feel, that you are happy with results, really they treat you like family. If anyone is considering plastic surgery, Dr. Connors is a must, he will make you perfect!"- K.E. / Yelp / Aug 28, 2015
"This is my second procedure with Dr. Connors, the first time was an absolutely amazing experience and my results were fantastic! The second time was just as great! The ladies up front create a welcoming environment, while making you feel safe through this pandemic. The educated nurses in the back walk you through the process step by step and answer any questions you might have. Coming from a medical background,I have always been impressed with there standard of care. I have referred friends and family to him! He makes you feel comfortable discussing whatever it is that brought you there. From beginning to end they take care of you. Would highly recommend!"- M.B. / Google / Sep 05, 2020
"Dr. Connors performed my rhinoplasty procedure in July of 2014. It has been completely life-changing. For as long as I can remember, my nose was something that I was very self-conscious about. Dr. Connors took the time to explain the entire process and procedure, all of the risks and benefits, and a realistic expectation of the results. He also used the Vectra 3D imaging system to actually show me a projected outcome of the procedure. The imaging showed the manipulated image of the nose on my face, so I had a good idea what I would look like after the surgery. This really helped to put me at ease because I knew he and I were on the same page regarding the results. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Connors and his office for any surgical or non-surgical procedure. You won't get better results or a more caring surgeon and staff!"- K.H. / Google / Aug 09, 2020

What to Expect
The cosmetic surgeon can inject Voluma into the apex, apple and hollow of the patient’s cheek. Results are immediate, and can last up to 2 years. Side effects are considered mild to moderate, and can last between 2 and 4 weeks. The most common side effects are tenderness, swelling, firmness, bumps, bruising, redness, itching or discoloration at the injection site.
Voluma is more expensive than other injectable fillers, such as Restylane® and Juvederm, because the results last longer. The cost of a Voluma treatment varies, depending on the amount of filler used. Plastic surgeons usually charge up to $1,000 per syringe. Each patient could use between 2 and 6 syringes per session, which means patients can expect to pay between $2,000 and $6,000 per session.

What is hyaluronic acid?
HA is a naturally occurring substance that helps bind water to cells. Its cross-linking abilities help provide lifting capacity, which restores volume in the cheeks and mid-face.
Is it right for me?
The plastic surgeon will help you create a unique treatment plan during your consultation. With extensive experience in a wide array of different fillers and relaxers, the cosmetic surgeon may include a combination of different fillers and techniques to achieve the desired results.
There is no downtime after a Voluma treatment. Patients can return to their normal activities, but it is suggested that patients avoid strenuous activities for the first 24 hours after any injectable filler treatments.
How long will it last?
The results can be seen immediately, and can last up to 2 years. The duration of the results depends on the area being treat, and the rate the patient’s tissue breaks down the filler.
