Atlanta, Georgia Patient - Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty Procedure*
This patient in her twenties came to the office to discuss some changes in her nose with Dr. Connors. She suffered from difficulty breathing (more significantly on the left side than the right) that worsened in the evenings (causing her to snore) and during allergy season. She had been experiencing these symptoms for years with no relief after using over-the-counter treatment options. Cosmetically she liked her nose, she just wanted to minimize, not completely eliminate, the dorsal hump. She wanted it to still look like "her nose" just a little more defined. Upon examination, Dr. Connors found that the patient had a deviated septum causing the functional concerns. He used an open septoplasty technique in order to correct the deviation and an open rhinoplasty procedure to refine the patient's nose by minimizing the dorsal hump. Postoperatively, the patient no longer experiences the breathing concerns as she did prior to her surgery. She loves her new nose (and being able to breathe)!More
