This patient in her early thirties came to the office to discuss a Tummy Tuck with Dr. Connors. She had decided that she was done having kids, and was ready to get her midsection back into pre-baby shape. Upon examination, Dr. Connors noted that she had some excess skin in the abdominal area and severe Diastasis Recti. This is where the abdominal muscles have separated causing a distended look to the abdomen, and happens very often during pregnancy. In order to address these conditions, Dr. Connors recommended an Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Connors made an incision in the supra-pubic region from hip bone to hip bone. He then sutured the patient's separated abdominal muscles, tightened and removed the excess skin and attached fat cells from her abdomen, and created a new opening for her umbilicus (belly button). In doing this, Dr. Connors was able to give the patient the tight, flat abdomen that she was desiring. The patient is beyond excited about her midsections and can't say enough about how much she loves her results!
